Correct M70 extractor tension

What is the correct amount of tension for a "Classic" M70 extractor? Mine holds the case head against the bolt face, and I can turn it carefully to any angle and not have the case fall off. One little tap on the bolt head, though, and the case falls off. On a 1911 , this would indicate too loose an extractor. Is it acceptable on a M70? What is the ideal tension?

It has to be tight enough to hold the case on the bolt until it gets to the ejector.....that's all.

I would like to add that the cartridge case head dimensions vary from one brand to another so some brass will snap onto the hook tighter than the others. For this reason, the extractor hook much be firm enough to hold the cartridge in place while it also must be loose enough to accomodate different case head dimensions. I suppose that the extractor hook could be "bent" a little for a sligth tension adjustment. Have fun!

I have it on good authority (Tom Burgess) you can measure the amount of deflection of the extractor when the case is slipped under the claw. Should be .004-.006.

Measure across the opposite lug and the extractor with and without the case under the claw.
