I like it. For those wanting to build a user friendly custom rifle, and are wondering about strength of Mauser actions (lots of discussion on other threads here about that), the use of a 93 action in this case is apropos for a 35 Remington. It is not a $6000 build, but it is, nonetheless, something the owner can take pride in. Resale value? Don't worry about that.

Did you have to do anything to the extractor to handle the smaller rim of the 35 Rem?

No; they work as is. Even on Swedish 96s, I swap extractors until they work with 35 Rems and they have a bigger bolt face than .473. While they don't hold cases as tight as larger cases, they are good enough to function well.

It is actually a very popular request; the old 35 still does the job in spite of all the new fangled cartridges; within 200 yards. I did one last year on a 91 Argentine; a very smooth working action. My personal one is built on a Swedish 96 with a xx English walnut stock.
