After Doing a bit of research on a new gun to save up for and purchase I've finally settled on the .17 Mach IV. For a rifle - the contender for its versatility in low calibers. Scope - most likely Simmons Aetec 3.8-12x44 AO/WA Can anybody tell me most of all where i can get a blued/walnut contender carbine frame thats less than $250? also if anyone would like to recommend a scope that i can get for less than $150 and still not sacrifice much in quality that starts at 3 or 4x, goes to at least 12x and has a objective lens less than 50mm with a focusing objective or parrallax adjustment?
all the help is greatly appreciated.

Midway was closing out the 6.5x20 AO 44 mag for $89.99. A new blue frame and walnut stock will run you around $275.00 from Ed's T/C's but you will have to have it sent to an FFL holder. Also, does New York require a spent shell to accompany any handgun? I don't know how that would work since the frame can be used for carbine or pistol.

Unfortunately the contender is out of production, so snap up what you find. Your best bet may be looking for a deal on a complete handgun, and selling off the barrel, this can get you a frame in the $150 range, though you'll have to factor in the stock and forend.
One of my shooting buddies has a 14" 17 MkIV contender, pretty impressive, pushes 25's 3600 fps.
