Dura Cote paint over bedding?
Is it an acceptable practice to paint the entire stock, barrel channel and all inletted surfaces with Dura Cote after all critical fitting is done?

I just got a Brown Precision fiberglass stock in for a XP 100 project and they say in the literature not to paint the bedding as it will ruin it.

I can't see what it would hurt. Am I missing something?

a role of blue painters tape is pretty cheap...

two things COULD be the cause of this

if it's bedded, it is a VERY tight fit, and the paint will change that fit

or

the solvents in the paint could be the same solvents for the bedding, and could soften the bedding

Brownell's sells die in four different colors to color Acraglas. You might try it with your bedding compound if a particular color is desired.
