I have an Obendorf Mauser in 9.3 x 62 circa 1935, the tangent sights are very accurate, dare I mount a scope on this piece or would that just hammer the value. Are there orignal mounts one could purchase and therefore not harm the value. I am sure Ray will have soemthing to say.

I would not mount a scope if it is all orgenal. diff would hurt the value then. If it has been modifyed before thing go for it .

Leave it be! I would hate to see a classic ruined!

If you want do that, the only mount imaginable IMHO is a german claw mount with the front base on a barrel ring just behind the action. You will find some pictures at www.eaw.de and www.recknagel.de

But if you shoot accurately as you write, put the scope on another rifle!

Best regards,
