Would a Winchester Pre64 bottom metal work on a Dakota 76?

yes and no
the magazines from a pre64 06 and short mags like 338WinMag, 264Mag, etc fit into a short mag Dakota 76. There's no middle guard screw in a Dakota 76.

375 length pre64 don't fit.
