You need a lathe, a barrel, a chamber reamer and an action and barrel wrench. Best left to the pros. Jim Kobe 10841 Oxborough Ave So Bloomington MN 55437 952.884.6031 Professional member American Custom Gunmakers Guild

Jim left out a few things ........... a great deal of skill gained from experience under someone's watchful eye. He said it well. Although you could pay $3K or $4K for the tools, get some training at a gunsmithing summer school, $1k + and then buy a barrel and do it yourself and save $200.

Lets just say I have the barrel already made by some one else and just want to attach it to the action.....

Define already made. Threads cut and to the right length? chamber cut and is it cut long or short? You may still be in need of a lathe, reamer, head space gauges, measuring equipment etc.

I think there is more to it then you think. If you had a Savage I'd say go for it, in this case take to a gunsmith. ______________________ Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

will These guys are trying to help you and give you the facts. It's up to you whether or not you listen. You will need a barrel vise and action wrench to get the old barrel off and to install the new one. You will need a headspace gauge to make sure the new barrel has the proper fit. If it doesn't you will need a lathe and probably a chamber reamer. It's not hard to do labor-wise. But it does take considerable knowledge and experience to do it safely. That's all they are trying to tell you. Good Luck Ray Arizona Mountains

not a job for a hobbiest, its not rocket science either, but you need to know what you are doing and have the right tools. There is not alot of room for error in the headspace dept. when talking about a cenerfire rifle. Good luck and be safe. Steve
