I ordered a set of leupold standard basses for my 7x57. It has weavers, and i prefer the adjustment for windage on the Leupold bases.
Went to mount them and the front is right but the whole spacing is wrong on the rear.
Took a closer look and am about sure i have a small ring 98. The guy i bought it from called it a large ring and i just accepted it. Its an FN military action.
I cant find a leupold base for a small ring.
Is there one ? does a 96 fit it ?
I am kind of stoked that my rifle is a small ring. the front and rear bridges are level , so i think its a small.
I could just put the weavers back on and call it good, but i like leupolds Any Ideas ?

Yes a 96 will work, but I have never seen an FN military action, small ring. However hole spacing was placed there by someone who sporterized it. Send me a picture of it and I will tell you what you have.

Thanks DPCD,
I just did a little research , Looks like a large ring after all. I just looked up the weaver basses by the Numbers and they are 45 and 46. Those are for a commercial FN. The Leupold Basses i ordered are for a large ring 98. It looks to me the leupold just have a different hole space then the weavers. I could have another hole drilled , or order the weaver grand slam basses that have windage adjustment.
I think i will just get a set of low Z Rings and use the basses i have. If i need to adust the scope for windage more then i like i can go back to the drawing board thanks again....tj30063

Hole spacing is different on the ones that keep the clip guide, and longer for ones without the clip guide like the commercial ones. Later ones. I will look at some Weavers and see; later today.
