I looked to see if there was any info on the current or replacing the plastic bottom plate and follower. I found none, so here goes. I have sent CZ a e-mail about this. I haven't had a reply so I thought I would ask you. Thanks. fws

Someone else on this forum replaced it with a follower from an M-70, may be you could try something like that. I thought CZ had changed back to metal followers.

Hey toto,

I was the one who replaced the plastic CZ 550 follower with an M70 steel one. it fit pretty well.

I have four CZ 550's, all purchased in the last 18 months, and they all have metal followers.

No PC,

I haven't bought a new gun since september of last year, the budget's been tight and it's only getting tighter now that i'm out of college.

anyway, i've heard from some folks on this site that say CZ got better and are using all metal parts and others that say there's nothing but plastic on them. Me, i don't know, but based on my 550 Lux, I'd be willing to throw another purchase there way.

Write them a polite email again. I, too, had two plastic parts. They replaced them for free and stated they would use solid metal henceforth.
