A mate of mine is interested in getting HS Precision rifle to replace his Rem 700s, all of which have match barrels and Jewell triggers. Becasue of his work he is somewhat limited on the amount of internet searching he can do....so I took on the job for him. My searchs turned up forums, articles etc. and etc. Of all the rifle types I have searched on before I have never come across a rifle that has so many positive reports. About the only two negatives were some people don't like the stocks, which is not a problem since you can buy the barreled actions and then the usual stuff about buying a cheap Rem 700 and doing it up. Just thought I would pass on the results of my searchs. Mike

I don't own one but have shot a few. They make a decent rifle for a decent price. They are kind of like Dakota limited productions guns and not really custom. Accuracy is good. Fit and finish. is good enough Garantee. the best! They make the whole rifle right there in South Dakota. So they control all the processing, not the same with Dakota. Never heard a bad word uttered about them, but I don't know more than 3 guys that own them and it's all they own. Not a bad high volume rifle for the hunting you folks get to do in Australia.

I own a HS Precision HTR2000 rifle in 338 Lapua Love it. Their 1/2 MOA guarantee is great, Rifle will hold that with the proper ammo. You can get the length barrel you want and a few other features. Usually many color stocks available. Very smooth action and detachable mag works great. Do it right the first time.

I have a pro hunter in 375RUM. It was half the price of a true custom, sort of a semi-custom. I ordered it the way I wanted it, and it took a few months. It shoots sub minute of angle with factory loads. Their customer support is superb. I'd stick with the factory stock, aluminum bedded and very high quality. More than one custom shop uses H.S. precision stocks. I think it's half the reason it shoots so well. As with all aluminum bedded actions, the screws will need occaisional retorqueing. I would not hesitate to buy another.
