I'd like to build a cabinet--sort of a spray booth for gunstocks which will double as a reduced-dust drying cabinet. Anyone here have a design I can copy? Thanks John Farner If you haven't, please join the NRA!

How much room do you want? The best one I have seen was made with an old closet door and 2X4's and was made out of plasterboard. It had a AC air filter at the top and a small exhaust fan like what goes over a stove or in a bathroom at the bottom. Also had 3 light bulbs in it. It worked really good for painting, plenty of room to move around and also just to reach in and look at all sides of something. It wasn't used for guns but for painting small car parts at a place I used to work at back when Reagan was president, but I was always impressed with how handy it was. for every hour in front of the computer you should have 3 hours outside

John, I have discussed these at lenght with Paul Dressel. He had been experimenting with a spray booth for his gunstocks. He found that you needed a very good filter system to make the incoming air squeaky clean and a down draft system for the air flow. I believe that the downdraft allowed you to leave the room and any dust coming in with the open door was removed in a downward fashion. I generally listen when he talks and question when I need clarification. I still have yet to pry out of him, the material he used for spraying a stock. Evidently it is something, that instead of creating multiple layers, fresh recoats become one single layer and evidently that is good. Biesens use a spray on their stocks and for some time used a very expensive car clear coat but that blend was discontinued.
