A friend of mine has spotted an older custom rifle in .375 HH on an enfield action. Apparantly it has the original follower...I'm not sure if anything has been done to the mag. box, rails etc. Will this cartridge work OK with this action with no modifications? I'm not familiar at all with the enfield actions. The rifle is nice enough looking with a maple stock but he was a little hesitant to buy because of the action. Thanks, Terry Sendero300>>>===TerryP

Best way (and I'll go out on a limb and say the ONLY way) is to run a box of shells through it. If they feed and eject (make sure you try to eject loaded cartridges in addition to empties) then I'd guess it is OK. Do that and buy or borrow a no-go guage and you are in good shape to evaluate it. If you are concerned about the strength of the action, don't be. Saeeds 577 T-Rex is built on one of these. Also, the P17 and P14 are a good choice for the really big bores anyway. I am assuming you are talking about a US enfield, Lee Enfields are NEVER used. for every hour in front of the computer you should have 3 hours outside

As long as it's a Winchester or Remington....and I believe the Remingtons are better .... It can be made to feed, eject, and shoot the .375 or even the .416 Rem or .458 Lott very well. If it's an eddystone leave it alone..... The Rails must be reworked to get reliable feeding regardless of what company made it. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery."
