Do any of you have any recomendations for modifications to mill. mauser bottem metal. I have seen the Dunlap systeme witha catch on a flat spring but it looks to me like it would not hold that weel witha full magazine under recoil from a 458 round. Any recomendations other the buying a replasement.

Take a look at the Dakota Arms release you could modify your base like they have it's fairly easy if you have some machine tools.

If you intend to use the gun for dangerous game, then I would definately get a Blackburn drop box that holds extra rounds, and is designed for the round.
