Can one of you guys look at a military shroud and the fn shroud. The military safety has a round cut out that slips over a the ring at the rear of the shroud to hold the safety on. What secures the FN safety to the shroud. I've tried it on a military shroud and it obviously needs the slot. What I cant see is what keeps it in the shroud? bob

when the safty is engaged the cocking piece holds the safety and keeps it fron coming out. when the safety is dis-engaged the small cut you see on left hand side holds it. The military and the FN are the same except for the cut.

AAh, so the safety lever is loose until the cocking piece is engaged when you re-assemble? When the cocking piece is turned to secure it to the firing pin, it then holds the safety in place. I think I'm starting to understand. Thanks, Bob
