The photoes are of a magazine for the M100. My shooting bud is having no luck securing a new one for various reasons. The problem is that the external flutes are worn at the feed end, causing poor feeding and bullets sticking. The exit end futes are in perfect condition. My Question is, if we cannot get a replacement, we propose a repair in order that he can use the his rifle. (Im a toolroom turner and machinist for the best part of fifty years. The turning of a new one is not the problem, my facility does not extend to the cutting of the Barley twist flutes on the O.D.) SO,if i bore the good end, make and press in a sleeve forming a new pain dia.to the dimensions of the worn ends plain dia. Machine the plain dia. off at the worn end , thus reversing the sleeve so that the worn flutes are on the exit end. The only detail on the inside of the sleeve i fit is a double keyway to prevent the guide (on the end of the spring)from turning. It will be tight but straightforward repair, but will it do the job thats required. What do you think,or can anyone source a new one for me. Be very grateful for your help. jc | ||
