To gain access to and remove the actual forearm from this weapon, you will need to pull the ENTIRE front end (barrel, bolt, action tube, hanger, forend tube, ejection port cover, etc.)from the rifle. There are small cam pins that turn the bolt head into the locking reccess of the barrel extension which can easily become lost and an ejection port cover that require careful alignment when reassembling these components back into the receiver.
Save yourself some grief and hire this done by someone experienced with the 760 rifle. While taking the thing apart is relatively easy, putting it back together can be a source of frustration if you are not readily familiar with this design.
