An old Vanguard stock would work. For less money and less hassle you should be able to get an inlet stock from Boyds.

I've shot a Howa (in 338 Imperial Magnum) restocked by Rimrock, very nice job. - Dan

Go to www.weatherby.com and look under whats new and there will be some stock up grades for the Wby Vanguards, than click on the pictures of the stocks and it will give more details. Pretty nice selection, and I think I will get the Snow camo style for the boys Model 1500 Smith and Wesson and reblue the metal. I have an older Vanguard Vgx with the Old Fancy Rose wood Forend and Grip cap just like the Mark 5 has and might get one for my self. I like the 5 choices in colors and option of Pillar bedding to CNC machined Alumiun block bedding from $185 to $325 with Pachmayr kick pads

Look up Boyd's Gunstocks. You will find several options at a lot lot less price than Weatherby would ever come up with.

I have used many of their stocks. The laminate ones that you finish ( which involves maybe 3 or 4 hours) are available for about $65.00 the last time I ordered one.

You can find them at www.boydboys.com

Cheers and Good shooting
