Stu C-thanks. The color, swirls, figure, and grain are virtually identical on both sides, and its grain is nice and straight where it needs to be. I'm really excited.

That is the beauty of Mel Smart's design. The right and left side of your finished blank were likely only 1/2" apart before lamination. Figure can be balanced even if the original blank was "one-sided".

The only problem I have with the new owners is price. I have probably the last stock that Mel Smart worked on before he died. It was a drop-in and with checkering it was 455.00. When I inquired with Rod about what the price is now for an equivalent drop-in the price was 750.00. I think this reflects the new CNC machinery and other equipment they bought. I'm glad I got mine when I did. They are very nice guys, though, and I wish them well.

Well, I got the barreled action out to them finally. Hopefully, in about 12 weeks from now I'll be testing out my "new" pride & joy.

I like the looks of the "Lioness" too. If I'm happy with their work, that might be my next one.
