FWIW, I thought I'd let everyone know that Sunny Hill now has a Rigby style dropbox floor plate available for their 4 round drop box making it a 5 round. Andy e-mailed me some pictures of it today. It looks cool! The bottom edges have enough metal to allow custom contouring to fit stock or taste. I have nothing to do with Sunny Hill, but I'm going to use one on my .375 project. And just thought I'd let every one know that it's an option. I have pictures if any one wants to see them, but I don't know how to post them. The Rigby drop box is not on their web sight yet. But they are in stock now. It's #440R. Retail for the trigger guard, box and floorplate assembly is $590.00 It's for the Mauser. Allen It's a Mauser thing, you wouldn't understand.

Slightly more than the cost of a new rifle.

I'm sorry, but if you have the money, spend it the way you please. Very few have the funds to do so, but thanks for the information for those that do.

James C Scott: Curious...just where do you buy a 416 Rigby for $560.00?? This is considered a dangerous game rifle....must be controlled round feeding..not some POS (no...that's not Pride of Spain) push feed...with extra round...where?

Also $590.00 is retail. I believe they have a pretty decent discount for FFL holders or gunsmiths. Allen It's a Mauser thing, you wouldn't understand.

Im sorry Duane, I didn't mean a new DGR. I was referring to the price most people pay for an off the shelf Remington or Howa, for example. New CZ's are a little cheaper too. If somebody commissions a best grade rifle, they can obviously afford it and would want to use only the very best parts and bits to assemble it. I applaud them for the art they are having produced, and you for producing it. However, some people may say, I could have bought a rifle for less than the price of that bottom metal. Doesn't make it right or wrong, just an observation.

Here is one of them. Still pretty thin for the benefit of an extra round. ------------------------------- Will Stewart / Once you've been amongst them, there is no such thing as too much gun. --------------------------------------- and, God Bless John Wayne. If the extra round were so important why do so many PH's use doubles? A question not a statement. I do like the looks though. ______________________ Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

Many if not most PH's with doubles had them given to them. That's why. ------------------------------- Will Stewart / Once you've been amongst them, there is no such thing as too much gun. --------------------------------------- and, God Bless John Wayne. Could this dropbox could be made to work for the .404 Jeffery? And be made to feed all the time, every time? Anyone used Sunny Hill's .375 bottom metal for the .404 Jeffery? Wouldn't that dropbox make a lovely .404 Jeffery? Allen It's a Mauser thing, you wouldn't understand.
