Does anyone have a diagram or animation of how the two stage military trigger works?

Sure, but I will explain it first; they have two humps and the first stage is when you pull the sear down so both humps are touching the receiver; the sear is still in contact with the cocking piece. From there you are pulling the trigger, leveraged off the second hump and the sear comes down more until the cocking piece is released. Wow, that will be hard to visualize without a picture. Never try to make one stage out of these; they are designed that way for a reason; safety.
