drewhenrytntAftermarket Triggers for Savage?
I like the Savage rifles, but despise the accutrigger.
Are there any good single stage adjustable triggers available?

BobsterLet's see; Accutrigger adjustable with one screw to 2.5 pounds with no creep or over-travel, what's not to like? BTW, the Accu-trigger is a single stage trigger. The trigger safety is not part of the trigger pull.

drewhenrytnt2.5lbs is too heavy for my preference and particular application. The trigger safety on my Glock is acceptable-not something I want or need on a varmint rifle. Once upon a time I had a rifle with a set trigger that when pushed forward a little "appendage" would protrude from the middle of the trigger. It would break at about 14oz which for that rifle was perfect. I would dearly love to have another trigger like that for my next varmint rifle.

Try Sharp Shooter Supply
Fred makes two triggers, a competition trigger that adjust from around 12 Oz to 2 Lbs. and the evolution trigger that goes down to just a couple of ounces.

jeffeossoAndy,
More than likely the trigger you had was a canjar.

tiggertateYes, and every once in a while a Canjar model for Savage pops up. I have one on my 220 Swift and love it. I think the Sharpshooter Supply is as good or the next best thing.

drewhenrytntThanks for the replies. Yes Jeffe I believe it was a Canjar. Fantastic trigger.
Seeing as how there are some viable options I am now looking at a 1-7/223 or a 1-9/22-250.
