Will the magazine box and follower spring made for a model 7 in 223 fit a short action 700?

Also, are the followers for the 223 and the 243 different, and if so how can I tell which one I have?

It is easy enough to make it from scratch. I have used this formula but can't tell on which rifle. I have several Garands, my refinished trigger group is indestenguishable from the arsenal jobs.
