Building a floorplate for my SearsChester
It was produced for Sears Way Back When and is a cheap version of the Model 70 with blind box magazine.

I have an "extra" Model 70 synthetic and since it was for the "real deal" Model 70 the stock has the bottom open.
Any suggestions on a reasonably priced floor plate that can modified to fit (yes I know the high dollar ones are out there).

If not, I plan on building a complete floorplate and parkerizing the rifle as a pure "Hunter" model. All I have readily accessible is mild cold rolled steel.

Will this metal take the parkerizing treatment pretty well the same as the rest of the gun??

Anyone here have a long action trigger guard/floorplatef rom a Model 70 they have rebuilt with all steel floorplate??

Just disassembled my Mod 70 and put parts on the SearsChester. NO need for a new mag box.

One reason I was thinking all steel and one piece (two welded together) floorplate/trigger guard is because of the desire to Parkerize the whole gun!

I had no idea they want that much for a Model 70 Classic Stainless now!
