After trying unsuccessfully for a year to get good groups from my Ruger #1 in 300 Weatherby I sent up to Pac-Nor for a new barrel. They said it would take 12 weeks, and it did. I took it to the range today and fired some medium loads with odd bullets for break-in and sight-in, and the groups were very good. With some load development I think it'll do 1 MOA. Pac-Nor does nice work. | ||

Eldeguello, Yes, same caliber. They sent the old barrel back, and comparing them shows a big difference in the quality of workamnship. The new one has a tighter chamber and the machining looks much better. For instance, the breech end of the original was obviously finished off with a belt sander leaving sharp edges while the new one was turned with radiused corners. Ruger should be embarrassed.
