Has anyone here ever tried recycled plastic for stocks. I have a very good friend who owns a company that makes outdoor all season furniture from recycled milk jugs. He claims it doesn't warp, doesn't fade, and you can leave it outside forever and nothing will bother it. I looked at some of his raw materials. It seems just a hair heavy, but very very strong. Probably could be hollowed out to get the weight down. My friend claims it machines quite easily. Anybody ever tried it?

I'm not an expert in this field but I doubt it would work well . If there was a cheaper and durable manufacturing process in which gunstocks could be produced . They would be on the market already . I'm not saying it can't be done , I simply believe the results would be less than desired !. I've used plastic wood several times over the past 25 years , there is nothing wrong with it for what it was intended for . http://www.machinerydata.com/HowToMakePlasticWood.htm Shoot Straight Know Your Target . ...
