A few years ago one could buy from Brownells straddle floorplates for both 1909 argentine and Mark X mausers. Those floorplates could also be adapted to other mauser bottom metal. Brownells doesnt carry them anymore.

Anybody know who the source was for these floorplates, or another source for them.

Hey Blue, When JBelk built the 1909 OEJ and let all us watch his step by step progress. I think he mentioned the floorplate came from Wisners, But I can't be absolutely sure of that. I don't have the URL, maybe someone else will reply with that.

Pretty sure I bought one from Talley back in '93 to fit the 09 floormetal.

He still has them, on his last parts sheet were $50. You can call him on Friday am's. Last I talked with him, he was pretty busy with a new baby. He was slow getting some parts out, but he came through.

TC1,
The straddle floor plate on the OEJ was from Jim Wisner. I donated it along with the 09 action for the project. I understand that Jim does have some. I have 3 or 4 left and need to buy a few more. I remember when Jim started making them and he sent out a local flier. He had 20 in inventory. Mark Stratton called me up and told me that he had purchased 15 of them. I called and got the other 5. They had been in inventory for one day.

I was not on this board when that one eyed jack project started, although I believe I saw the final results of it just this past week.
Could somebody bring me up to date on what that One eyed jack project was all about. Was it done for a charity with everyone here contributing, or just why was it done, and how was it determined who eventually got the rifle. The reason I ask is that if there is another one done for a good charity in the future I would want to donate something to the cause.

Ok to update you guys.

As of May 1 all the remaining parts I had went to Wisner's Inc.

Yes there are some stradle floorplates left for the 1909, about 4 if I recall. They retail for 50.00 USD plus shipping.
This part is on the CNC so now will be able to run some more when I run out.
I do not have these items up on the web site yet, but will soon before Dad starts salmon fishing.

www.wisnersinc.com

Parts orders 360-748-4590, 9am - 5pm, Mon - Fri, Pacific time

The old number of 360-748-3743 is if you want to have any custom metal work done, however am up to my eyeballs with work and a two month old son.

So have separated the custom work and parts.

Okay, I've got to ask. What is a straddle floorplate? If a rifle has one, it has it as opposed to what other, regular floorplate?

A straddle floorplate is a floorplate that goes past the leading edge of the triggerguard on both sides of the triggerguard. If you look at Blackburn guards they all have straddle floorplates. Winchster model 70s do not.
