airgun1Cleaning a vintage NoShoc recoil pad
I have a nice mid 1950's Winchester model Fwt 70 stock with a very dirty orange NoShoc recoil pad. The pad is fairly soft but really dirty. What is the best way to clean the pad, both on the perimeter and the face. It is not all hard or rotting. I don't want to dissolve it experimenting.

eagle27Pachmayr recommend cleaning their pads with Armor All or an equivalent product. Should work fine on any pad.

jeffeossofor cleaning stuff like this, i start with soapy water, and it's usually dawn/dawn ultra - if oily and metal, simple green mix works well -
you are planning on taking it off the stock, right?

airgun1Dawn is a wonderful product! I am glad that I decided to ask here before using something harsh / potentially destructive. Dawn in hot water and a stiff tooth brush has made the pad look great! Thanks to all.
