I have a savage 112 stainless match barrell in 223, i was wondering how much work it involves converting it over to a 22-250? Is it a barrell change only? Cant be that easy, but since they are both 22 calibers it should be simpler than some of the conversions I have seen. It is judt a thought right now though.

The case head sizes are different. You'll need to change out the bolt head as well as the barrel.

Besides the bolthead change, you would also have to change the magazine box to feed the fater cartridge case.

I thought there had to be more, sounds like a great excuse to buy a 22-250

Welcome to the land of firearms purchase justification. That's justification number 9 in my list - can't easily
make it from something I've got. My list of justifications keeps growing even thought the justifications get
weaker. The weakest one is - had to buy another safe to hold my guns and since there is room now in the
safe that justifies buying more guns, can't waste space in a safe!

RELOAD - ITS FUN!
