MacifejGotta love that wood ..!!
I'd be tempted to "Grey" the metal so as to keep the contrast with the wood ...

srtraxAnother OUTSTANDING rifle...

maxbearThat is a beauty. Outstanding choice of wood. The tight fiddleback and ink black lines are just awesome. I love how the grain flows up out of the toe area. The 'holy grip area' has a nice flow aswell, then heads straight for the forend . Just beautiful, with wonderful contrasting colors. Bravo!!
Do you have a photo of the stock blank before it was carved?
Thank for sharing.

Jameister, that's a Halfmoon rifleshop Oberndorf style handle. It was done that way on purpose.

Here is a better view of the bolt handle.

bwanamrmOoooohhhhh...ahhhhhhhhh, very nice rifle in the works! Congrats! And I personally love the caliber. A classic through and through...

Beautiful work by Mr. Worthing. Looking forward to seeing it after it has been blued and checkered.
Where did you get that 1936 cocking knob for the 1910 action?
Are you going to have any engraving done on this one?

Huntr7X57Wow, that is a beauty! Nice cartridge choice also...

He's definitely not. I wish I had more but I only had the barreled action for a short time before Chic got it. I'll shoot it from all angles when it's finished. It should be done soon and trust me, you'll be sick of looking at it before it's over with.

HA!

Yep, I do love the way the grain follows the stock form. Should be very strong. Beauty to say the least.

What checkering pattern/style will you use on this rifle?
It'll have a simple wrap around point pattern.

Anyone who knows enough about fine rifles to know of Half Moon Rifle shop is definitely a connossieur in my book. Is that one of their barrels too??
That's a Shilen blank. Mark turns them on site. Jameister is learning all this stuff. It's no big deal.
