Trying to repair a faulty hammer indicator on a Savage 99A. Have removed the bolt stop and cartridge stop, lever cap screw and pivot. I removed the lever from its pivot and have been trying to wrangle the lever from the action once I have cleared the lever lug from the bolt but cannot find enough clearance to remove it entirerly from the action. Is there anything I missed. Have been refering from the illustrated takedown procedure in the "Gun Digest sporting rifle take down & assembly guide"

Remove the bolt stop. Remove bolt. Remove trigger pin and trigger. Remove lever pin and screw, remove lever. I don't have a 99A here but you might need to pull the trigger spring as well. _______________________________________________________________________________ This is my rifle, there are many like it but this one is mine. That works on my old model 1899 TD but not on this newer gun.
