Can't use a model 70 bottom metal, but you can buy custom bottom metal for the model 98. Just check the Brownell's catalog for the Sunny Hill bottom metal.

There are several folks who make aftermarket bottom metal for the 98 Mauser.

Email Jim Wisner. He makes some of the best. In many different configurations.

One really neat looking bottom metal for a Mauser 98 is to use a Springfield 1903 milled triggerguard. The bow is shaped nicely and the flow of the grip out of it makes for a very pleasing appearence. I wish I had done all my Mauser 98s that way.
