just inquiring as to what would be involved in re-chambering a 30-06 takeoff barrel to 300 wsm.
I have ended up with a 30-06 barrel from a SAKO M-75 and simply don't want a '06.

Depends if how well the 300 WSM chambering reamer would clean up the 30-06 chamber or if it would have to be cut off and set back.

It's either a $50 job or a $300 job.

The WSM is about 1/2 " shorter. Can't see how you would do it without setting the barrel back. A 308 Norma a 300WM would be pretty easy.

As usual just my $.02

No doubt the barrel will need to be set back

Thanks for the feedback guys. Ramrod, the 308 Norma is very interesting to me-I'll have to sleuth that out somehow.
