I want to try a NECG aperture sight and fiber optic front on a M77. Does anybody know where or how to put a hood on the front sight?

you would need to cut a groove on both sides of the sight, however if you want a fiber optic sight the hood would decrease the light hitting the side of the fiber, thus reducing its effect.

So I guess I don't want a hood after all. Are these sights durable enough to survive without a hood. Bearing in mind that if it can break odds are I'll find a way.
