I don't know about stock making activities, but Brownells carries a "Treebone Carving" hard rubber buttplate. You may find the latest contact info for them if you call Brownell's customer service.

Treebone is still in business. He is located about 1/2 hour from me. Never done business with him but have heard he has LARGE supply of beautiful walnut and does great work. I like synthetics, accuracy only, could care less about beauty or value.
