A smith I know has been Parkerizing then bluing and it looks like it may be a good all around type finish but hard chroming is the ultimate. Teflon sucks as moisture can get under and you won't see it 'til it's too late.
Dickens, I have several guns in KG Gun Kote.(www.kgproducts.net) It was developed for the Navy seal teams and meets extreme salt tests. Visit their website I listed, their sales rep Joe can also answer any questions you may have. Hope I have helped you. sure-shot
Take a look at www.robar.com and see which product meets your requirements. I have 3 rifles finished with NP-3 and really like it, however, I was not concerned about salt water.
