Savage magazine boxes

Hey guys I need some advice on installing a new magazine box on a Savage model 11FL .223.I got the old one out no problem but getting the new one in has me at a loss. Thanks in advance.

Are you sure you have the right replacement it shouldn't go in any harder then the other one came out

Tone,

Savage magazine boxes are designed to be held in their slots by spring tension from the box. Place one end in the slot with the other end lying on the receiver, take a piece of hardwood shaped like a screwdriver (one leg of a wooden clothes pin works) place it just above the lip and hit it with a hammer or leather mallet, it will pop right in the slot.

Hey thanks for the replys! No P DOG SHOOTER I got the right one and it is not as easy as it looks so I made my own modifactions to the new one and you can take it in and out with no effort at all and stays in nice and snug! Thanks for the replys,Indy
