What scope bases are compatable with previously drilled holes for Weaver mounts?

Thanks.

"Most" two-piece scope bases use the same hole spacing for a given rifle model, dictated by the factory hole pattern of the rifle. If a Weaver base fits it, chances are a Redfield, Leupold or others will too. Problems arise with guns that are not factory drilled. What kind of rifle?

It is an m1909, already drilled. I will want some other bases and rings though. I like the idea of Talley rings with their large easy to use levers. I think the vertically split ring detracts from any aesthetic appeal they have. It makes them look bulky.
