I was wondering what are my options for a magazine for Model 70 classic? Would the 670 working i could find one? I am putting together a nice welter weight rifle on a model 70 classic S.S. action. I am using a McMillan Feather Weight stock that was used for the Winlite Featherweight that has a blind magazine. Thanks for any help in advance.

Regards,
Chris

I have done several of these and I used the Remington 700 adl trigger guard and the standard Mod 70 magazine box with a little grinding and file work. Also see if you can find one of those cheesy metal plates that fit on the bottom of the mag spring and stabilize it from moving all over the place. I know the old 670 used them. As a last resort let me know as I mat still have one lurking arond someplace.

Aloha, Mark

Mark,

Thanks for the reply. When you say that the standard mag box will work with a lttle grinding and filing. Do you mean removing material all around the bottom of magazine until it fits? Thanks again

Chris
