I have a Turk action, VZ-24 stock, and a new 7x57 19.5 inch military barrel. I have put all these parts together to make a carbine. The action is drilled and taped and dehumped for a scope. but I was hopping to use open sights. I have some leftover military sights but they will only give me a 16 inch Sight radius when complete. Does any one make a V sight
that can be mounted on the existing rear base holes or on weaver bases? Also this was made up of left over parts I do no want to spend much.

Have you considered a peep sight. A Lyman 57 would be a great choice & will increase the sight radius about 8 or 9 inches.

I had a Williams peep put on my '98 a while back.
Not too much $$ and works well.

If your charger hump is removed and the rear is drilled for a scope base, you can modify a Williams Guide sight made for an FN Mauser. This will give you the benefits of a peep without adding more holes to your receiver.

Roundbutt,

Just wanted to emphasize the point SamB made, that you will have to MODIFY this sight to work -- the front screw hole on it would lie somewhere in the middle of the charger slot on a military Mauser. Your options are: 1) use the rear screw only and epoxy it in place 2) have a new screw hole drilled and counterbored in the sight.

If you don't like #1 and can't do #2 yourself, you should look into something like an Ashley peep (might fit better, never tried one myself), or one of the peeps that fit on a Weaver base. Just thought I'd save you the aggravation I experienced when I bought that sight, planning to use it as an easy backup sight option.

Good luck,
Todd
