I have always noticed that in the bolt on my 742 remintgon that there is a hole that the firing pin pops out of when fired to hit the primer. It has always left a small mark on primers after I close the action. This year I noticed that my shells didnt have the tiny dent in the primer after being loaded and extracted. Also when i look at that hole where the pin comes from it looks like the pin is jammed in the hole. The gun still works fine but has anyone had that happen? or know whats wrong?

Well, gosh, shucks, sounds like, maybe nothing. Still shoots, doesn't mark unfired primers and functions smoothly? Might I suggest a thorough cleaning? Not meaning to be a smart aleck, but an active rifle requires maintenance of which cleaning is a huge part. Luck, Stephen
