May be some help here. Does anybody know how to disassemble this Ed lapour safety. I need to blue it and don't have a clue how to do it safely. Ed's site is apparently not active currently and the email as well. Thanks in advance. Forgot to add the pictures.

You have to knock the pin out that retains the lever, can't remember if you can drive it through from the outside or from the inside out.

That pin is out. The forward screw appears to secure the ball detent. Not sure if it has to come out. The cocking piece is threaded to the firing pin, totally different beast than a mauser 3 position. What is the sequence to disassemble. Ed is out of the room, prefer not to call and bother him if he is truly retired.

I believe the firing pin is screwed into the cocking piece and held with a set screw, hence the hole in the bottom of the cocking piece, watch out for it is sprng loaded. The detent ball keeps the shroud from over rotating

If JK's suggestions don't get you where you need to go get in touch with Jim Wisner, if I remember correctly Ed bought the safety shroud business from Wisner and JW is also a valuable encyclopedia of knowledge when it comes to stuff like this.

The detent has 2 set screws retaining it. Remove the C/P set screw and unscrew the hole lot off the firing pin.

Thanks to all who answered. A question for Metal as I know he has a Sako with the 3 position safety. Is this the same configuration as yours. I ask because EL had recommended sending the entire bolt to him for fitting due to so many changes by Sako over the years. Also, what position does the safety lever have to be in.

I did quite a few L461’s. From memory there were 2 or 3 different firing pin lengths, so the correct one needed to be supplied with the kit. I have the instructions so I can send them to you. PM your email. Cheers

Metal, thank you for the offer. Ed fit this for me so never had any fitting or assembly instructions provided.
