Savage 340D mounts

Just been given a Savage 222 model 340D and was wondering which bases or mounting system is regarded as the best. It appears that a side type arrangement is required as that is where it has been drilled and tapped. Your responses I look forward to.

They were made to to take a weaver base and mounts that attach to the side holes.

Check e-gunparts.com. They have side mounts for the 340. Looked for the Weaver mount a while back and couldn't find one.

B-Square makes the best side mounts for the Savage 340. The Weavers are discontinued and the orginal Savage mount is a POS.
