Anyone have any suggestions as to how to compress the firing pin spring in the firing pin assembly on the Savage 110 in order to replace the firing pin? Brownells tells me that there is no tool available. I've tried alternate prayers and cussing but neither approach seems to be working.

My recollection is that the bolt plug compresses the spring. Once removed, the spring should decompress and come out along with the firing pin.

Google the process. There is a youtube video on how to do it.
