DJM,

Are you talking about the set weight? They are adjustable, or at least the ones I have are. There is a small screw at the bottom that does it.

The springs on mine are spring steel, not a coil.

I watched a local gun buff install a double set on my 257 AI about a week ago. There is a spring inside the upper sear section of the mechanism that can be shortened with a pair of linemans pliers to get a lighter pull, just dont take off too much. The bottom screw adjusts the amount of travel of the hair trigger when it is set and because of the design can be set quite minimal. I would make sure that you dont have any "rub" on the side of the sear in the reciever slot or any other undue resistance, make sure everything is clean and properly lubed and then use the screw adjustment. If that is still unsatisfactory then you can clip the spring a bit to lighten it up. I believe the spring is the same as that used in a millsurp trigger, so if you goof it up a replacement should not be a problem.
