Bake-On Paints or Finishes for Aluminum ......

Hello

I'm refurbishing several Hornady Pacific shotshell presses, even to the point of stripping and repainting the bases and major assemblies (that are painted and hold the dies, etc.).

I like the bake-on paints offered by Brownell's, but everything they offer is a dull earth-tone color.

I want to paint my shotshell presses the same colors (or similar) of blue as Dillon, or the same green as Redding, but don't know where to find those colors.

Can anyone help?

Does anyone know of any heat-cured, rainbow-colored paints that will work on aluminum?

Thanks ahead of time.

if you have a cycle/custom car shop in the area that offers powder coating you may be able to use that.

Take a look at Gun-Kote. Works well and is available in many colors.

engine paint from the local speed shop. VHT makes solvent-resistant paints in several colors. http://www.caswellplating.com/vht/vht_high.htm the 550 engine paint only requires curing at 200 degrees, which means you will not affect any heat-treating of the aluminum. I have used it to paint a garand gas cylinder and it is wearing very well.

lowe's has quite a variety of paints, including hammertones.
