A friend called and asked what he should have to pay for a G33-40 action (he has the itch to build a new gun). Its been years since I bought or sold one, and have not looked for one myself so all I could offer him was my best guess at about $400 depending on what if anything has already been done to the action or bolt. I also warned him I might be way off. Anyone have any input of what they have recently seen them sell for?

An action only would be in the range of $500 - 800 depending upon condition.

It's a seller's market for these actions and it's reflected in the price. Don't pay too much attention to what someone says about what he paid back when. What's important is to find someone who actually owns one and will give you a price at which they are a willing seller. The rest is just talk.

A friend of mine recently sold a G33-40 rifle for $650.00. The stock was chopped, but the action was in very good condition.

Just for the record, I am in the market for a G33-40 or two for a custom project(s). I would certainly pay market or more for one. MUFASA
