My dad has a lovely Belgian built D4 Browning with a three peice forend that continues to break the screws that hold the forend onto the gun. While I made him a few spares (out of 4140.....sorry the heads were'nt engraved) a couple of years ago I failed to record the thread size in my notes. The major diameter of the original screws was .097" and I believe the thread was 56 tpi. I don't have the firearm at hand and I remember the thread being very difficult to measure (not enough hands to hold thread pitch guage, screw and magnifying device). Has anyone fixed this problem in an otherwise lovely gun??? Does anyone know the thread size/description so that I may order the die nut from Brownells or another source.

A bit of further investigation indicates that the threads are probably 7BA (.098" x 53 tpi) does anyone know differently.
