I need your opinions on the Uncle Mike's recoil pad now being sold by Butler Creek. The most recent ones look decent, but I've never handled/felt one. Can anyone tell me about them?

I've never seen the pad you are listing but I have a Uncle Mike's pad on a HS Precision stock. After hunting a week in cold weather and rocky terrain I noticed it had a tear in the rubber, probably from propping it up while I glassed or in camp. I like Pachmayr Decelerators. sure-shot

I'm not sure which pad you are refering to either but I have a couple of the HS stocks that have the "Ultra-Mag" pad on them.

I haven't had any problem with them and would rate their softness between the Pachmayr pad on my Model 70 Safari Express and the rock like pad on several Remingtons.

I like the pads on the HS Precision stocks just fine.

Joe.
