Who sells a lighter trigger spring for the new model 70's? Can you just clip a coil off of the current spring. It seems like it will be to short if the spring is clipped.

Don't clip it, this is a big mistake. Send it to Mark Penrod in Indiana. He has adjusted 3 for me down to 2.5Ib by remachining them.

don't shorten it, just go find lighter ones, any hardware store usually has assortments, but a couple & see which one give you the weight you want

A couple of years ago I ordered the following spring from Brownell's: 910-000-222 U356401700 TRIGGER SPRING $3.12 It gave me a 2 1/2 # trigger pull. Mike -------------- DRSS, Womper's Club, NRA Life Member/Charter Member NRA Golden Eagles ... Knifemaker, http://www.mstarling.com

I was just recently able to adjust it down to about 4 pounds. Anything lighter than that is a stretch. I use a spring kit from Wolff that has a bunch of different diameters and strenghts. Your local gunsmith should really be able to do the whole job, spring included for well under $50. -Spencer

Spencer, I bought a couple of Wolff spring kits a little over a year ago, and use the springs for trigger jobs. I think it is a good investment as there are always springs of the right diameter with thinner wire to use. I just cut them to length and go for it. The spring change, plus parts polishing gives a good pull with the sear engagement set right. I use a good Molly paste to lube engagement surfaces. Don

They sell these on Ebay. Can't vouch for their quality. Regards, Wayne E. Ebay M70 light pull trigger spring auction

I set half the trigger pull in the pre-travel and the other half in spring and sear engagement. I use the Shooters Choice Hi-Tech synthetic Grease that comes in the little syringe. -Spencer
