I would like to find a synthetick stock for my Sako L579 witch will have a varmint barrel. The problem is that I can`t find a stock with a straight comb and wide "beavertail" forend. H-S Precision have their Varmint series but not for the L579. McMillan have the perfect stock, the Winchester Marksman, but not for Sako models. The A2 has both the straight comb and wide forend, but it feels to "tactical" and heavy for a hunting rifle(Have only seen it on picture though). The Classic doesn`t take barrels over #5, and mine will have a Sako Varmint profile(Don`t know what contour # that is). Suggestions?
Try MPI. They did a Hunter Benchrest for me in a Sako short action a number of years ago that I have beenvery pleased with. It had the wide forend....not sure about left hand...but can't hurt to ask.

You might try Bansners. They make the "High Tech" line and I know the High Tech used to have stock patterns for the SA Sako L 579s. Try the web @ bansners.com. Aloha, Mark[in Or]
I tried Bansner/Hi Tech when I had Bill Leeper put together my L579 7-08AI.They don't do one. I got a MacMillan from the "Internet Specials".Sako Hunter pattern.I know that a local guy has made a Sako Varmint pattern. His stocks are carried by Brownell's under the "Wildcat" name.I can get you a phone number if you like.
